Dr. Chan is a physician-scientist epileptologist with a passion for brain-computer interfaces (BCI). He trained under Dr. Helen Mayberg at Mount Sinai, a pioneer of deep brain stimulation for depression, where he developed his foundational interest in circuit-based neuromodulation. His lab's work spans three areas: brain-computer interfaces for communication and rehabilitation; neuromodulation for epilepsy and mood; and other neurotechnologies, including in-ear EEG and digital biomarkers.
We maintain strong relationships with past trainees. If you have trained in the Chan Lab and wish to be listed here, please reach out.
We are actively recruiting medical students, residents, and graduate students. Training spans clinical research, computational neuroscience, and device development.
